Oprah Dumps Rosey O’Donnell Then Fires 30 Staffers
March 19, 2012 - Oprah Winfrey is restructuring her OWN company in an effort to battle poor ratings. Today she announced 30 of her staffers would be fired. This comes just 3 days after her cancelling the Rosey O’Donnell show.
“It is difficult to make tough business decisions that affect people’s lives, but the economics of a start-up cable network just don’t work with the cost structure that was in place,” said OWN chief executive Oprah Winfrey, who was present in the network’s mid-Wilshire area offices this afternoon. “As CEO, I have a responsibility to chart the course for long-term success for the network. To wholly achieve that long-term success, this was a necessary next step.”
I wonder where the outcry is that super rich Oprah fires 30 people and all is quiet on the liberal front? I’m thinking about the time not too long ago when Romney stuck his rich conservative foot in his mouth about not being afraid to fire people and how the ObamaMedia ran with it. It’s never a sin to be rich and powerful, unless of course you’re a white conservative. Oh, but of course Queen Oprah isn’t running for the presidency, she’s just kissing Obama’s royal ass which makes her media bullet proof. Then again, I think her ratings began to drop at about the same time she announced she was supporting the Marxist. Time will only tell if her throne will be toppled. -JRoycroft
